Last week, what we've seen in the story of Jessica and Jeremy was a total representation of unfaithfulness. She did not only take him for granted but she was actually going out with other guys, cheating on Jeremy.
Kelvin and Michelle then took over and shared on the story of Hosea in the Bible. Hosea is a minor prophet in the Bible. His name means "Salvation" and he is also a direct representation of God that will come as the Messiah Lord Jesus Christ.
In the book of Hosea, God is using Hosea's life to show His love and faithfulness towards the nation of Israel. God asked Hosea to marry Gomer who is a prostitute. From the very on start, God has told Hosea that she will cause disgrace to Hosea and that she will be unfaithful. Yet, Hosea obeyed God's Word to marry Gomer.
Gomer finally really became really unfaithful to Hosea and went out to look for other lovers. Nothing that Hosea did can satisfy her. Despite that, God asked Hosea to continue providing for Gomer (providing her with food, clothes etc.). Hosea not only provided for her but he also gave it to her lovers making sure she doesn't know the things are from him. Gomer continued thinking that all the "blessings" she received was from her lovers.
Finally, Gomer was abused, ill-treated and left behind by her lovers. She was found in the auction market by Hosea. Hosea went to the market and bought her back despite all the shame she's caused him.
If you were to be Hosea, do you think you can do that? Do you think you can forgive her despite all her wrong doings? But the matter of fact is, God can, just like how it's represented in Hosea's life. Despite all our sins and unfaithfulness to God, God is telling us that He will continue to be with us, being faithful to us. This is something that only the Lord Jesus Christ can do it because He loves us and we belong to Him - His children, His bride!
